Several years ago, my friend Mark Nagata started his own toy company called Max Toy Company. Named after his son Max, Max Toy Company produces high quality toys fashioned after the old 1970's
Japanese monster (kaiju) toys. Here are a few examples of his stellar work. Packaging for all these toys is inspired by their predecessors from the 1970's. Each toy is individually bagged and stapled
to a very ornate header card. In the case of all Max Toy Company toys, Mark hand painted the original art for these header cards.

Here's another cool license Max Toy Company was able to acquire - Mazinger Z!

A special license was granted during Max Toy Co.'s 15th Anniversary to produce Ultraman and some related ancillary characters. Figures created under the Max Toy Co. imprint included Ultraman,
Gamora, Pigmon, and Baltan. Here are a few I was able to pick up.

In early 2026, Mark Nagata made an announcement that he was shutting Max Toy Company down after more than 20 years. He and his wife decided to transition into retirement and enjoy other aspects of life
rather than just toys. His passion for creating will continue, however, and he will update whatever he's working on via his website, MarkNagata.com.
